You have to see this...

Okay. I was going to post something intelligent and insightful.

Then, out surfing late one night, I was poking around author's sites on SFF.net, and at this site, I came across a link to a collection of Weight Watchers recipe cards from 1974.

You have to go look. Really.

Take the tour.

Read the text, too.

Put down your beverage, first.

I'll try for intelligent and insightful when I can stop laughing.

The Government will Find that Site and Ban it - there are Too Many Secrets about what was really happening in the Seventies to Let That Site Remain.

Erase your Hard Drives! Don't let them Find YOU!!

Sorry, I tried to smoke those pods (I had them in some old potpourri) and got really paranoid. Now I've got a craving for onionflake and pimento relish on limp kale...

Thank you, Jesus, that my mother didn't belong to Weight Watchers.

Where was the Mackeral Jello Asspic? They had jelloed/jellied everything else. . . barf-o-matic.

No doubt...none at all, I would loose a TON of weight on that diet!
I'd just give up and eat the grass out of the front yard! :)

I wonder if anyone kept the old Deal-a-Meal (Richard Simmons?) cards my parents had in the 80s...

I loved these two.
See how the Ceramic Mushroom Family has gathered to show their children what happens to bad little mushrooms.

You could eat this log. Or you could stick your hand in a rusty kitchen grinder.

The one with the urn wasn't bad either.

Mac, I'm going to force myself to get up early and read your blog in the morning to start my day with a laugh. This is not good reading this stuff when I'm ready for bed. Now I'm wide awake. :)

Love that person's sense of humor.

That bean and mushroom salad looks like Klingon food. I'm surprised Dawno hasn't already made some and reported back to us.

Mark, I plan to do a Mackereality Friday for each Friday of the entire Lenten season.

And I'm not even Catholic.

The Klingon's wouldn't even eat that food - none of it wiggles - well, except the jellied stuff, but that's all vegetables and they're carnivorous. Maybe the Caucasian Shishlick...any Caucasians care to volunteer?

dang nab it. Why do those apostrophies keep popping up where they don't belong. Klingons not Klingon's!! ARGGH

Mmmmm...celery log...

I like the idea of a rosy perfection salad. I just don't like their execution of the idea. Who can think up a better version? I think it should have real rose petals and no clear gelatin - although strawberry or cherry jello cubes would be ok...well, maybe not with rose petals. hmm.

I seriously need to get to sleep.

If you like the WW cards, you should read I'm Not the New Me, the memoir written by the author of that blog. It is a wonderful memoir, and even funnier than those cards! Wendy McClure is the author.

I was actually thinking I would order the book, LeapB4--thanks!
