As I read this particular piece I really wasn't sure what to think. I like to see myself as a peace loving person however I'm also rather pragamatic. As long as their are men and woman with free will there will be disagreements. When 2 humans disagree passionatly about the same thing they will at sometime begin to fight. When 2 countries passionatly disagree it becomes war. There is nothing in our history more virently fought for than not only the right to practice your beliefs and/or religion, but to then proceed to impose it on those around you. I'm rather surprised actually that you seemed surprised that someone from the other side would take this stance of innocence. We Americans do it all the time, but its ok because we are Americans and practice freedom of speech, government, and religion, so we are right in making sure that everyone else plays by the same rules that we do (I am being sarcastic if anyone is wondering). Before I get kicked in the butt and called un-American I'm saying that as a country we do have the right to protect ourselves but I'm not sure we have the right to try and govern the actions of the rest of the world. (This is why your mother told you to never talk about 3 things at a party if you wanted to stay out of an argument..sex,politics, and religion. In any war both sides think they are right and they are the injured party (otherwise there wouldn't be a war would there?). OK..nuff said. My view may be unpopular but I do have the right to have it. I do wish that we could have world peace and everyone loved one another yadda yadda yadda. I also know it ain't gonna happen anytime soon.
