It seems to me that the Bushies are happy to declare war on other countries and kill hundreds of thousands of human beings--while claiming to be God's servants.
No wonder they seem far more interested in quoting the Old Testament (at least the pieces and parts that serve their agenda) than actually examining the reported words of the Jesus Christ they supposedly serve.
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed
are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness. for they shall be
filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Thanks Charlie. The older I get, the harder it is for me to understand what earthly good anyone really thinks is going to come of "kicking some ass."
Yup. There's a sci-fi short story (by Asimov, I think) wherein the powers that be try to get the eggheads to create a super-computer that will tell them the optimum time to wage war upon their enemies. No matter what they do, every time they feed the computer a scenario, it says no, that's not a good time to go to war. One of the programmers finally tells the honchos that they keep getting a no because they can't figure out how to provide the computer with a sense of self-righteousness.
