At this time there are over 2 million women living in the US who have been diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer. Breast cancer incidence continues to increase since 1980. A total of 40,410 women and 470 men are predicted to die from breast cancer in the United States during the year 2005 as per ACS estimates. The death rates from breast cancer among woman of all ages have declined in the United States by 2.8% every year from 1990 to 2000 as per the most recent data. By site breast cancer continues to be the leading cancer site among American women and is second only to lung cancer in cancer deaths. Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among women ages 40-59.JL4https://www.blogger.com/profile/04259814674520014095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7260692.post-1138936739481183932006-02-02T19:18:00.000-08:002006-02-02T19:18:00.000-08:00Sounds like it to me, too. *grin* I guess I didn't...Sounds like it to me, too. *grin* I guess I didn't understand how many lives were touched by breast cancer.

Thanks, folks. The day she came out of the operating room was the exact day my daughter was born; Dec 2nd.

Although I've never done a "walk", I've twice done 5K runs for the pink ribbon, and I organized and ran a golf tournament for breast cancer in 1982 when I lived in Kansas. Raised $3,500.00. Not bad for a 2-day tournament in the middle of nowhere.JL4https://www.blogger.com/profile/04259814674520014095noreply@blogger.com
